![]() ![]() Any bosses you take down together, if you haven’t beaten them on your own save, you will have to go and defeat them when you return from the co-op adventure. If you join a player, all the materials that you collect as a team, all the progress that is made through the game will only be stored on the host’s save file. There are some things to note, however, some oddities about this game in particular to be aware of. Whether it’s getting someone in to help with a tricky boss (always a valid tactic) or just exploring the planet as a duo, playing with friends in a co-op style is what raises this game to another level. Playing Journey to the Savage Planet alone has been a great experience, but playing with a friend just makes everything better. How will I get the Goo that’s hanging off the bottom of a rock, over a bottomless abyss? Come back later with an upgraded rocket jump and you may have a chance! So, not only is it rewarding in its own right to explore and see everything the game has to offer, some of the puzzles to get to the Alloys and Goos are truly mind bending, requiring some planning and mastery of the traversal mechanic to acquire them. In addition to the Alloy and Goo, there are other things to find, including the logs of previous explorers and tablets from an Alien culture that had something to do with the planet, way back in the past. So at the beginning, it’s one or two Goos to level up, but I’ve found around half of the 100 available, and it now costs me five Goos to upgrade. Eating enough Goo will increase both your health and stamina, and as you find more, the quantity needed to raise your level will also increase. Now, the other things to find, as well as the Alien Alloy are the likes of Orange Goo, which is the only way to increase your level in this game. Unless of course, it’s a Pufferbird and you kick it over the edge of a cliff… The first set of minerals are easy to find, as every enemy that is defeated will drop some kind of items for you to pick up. Now, these items need to be made not only from materials like carbon, silicon and so on, but also usually from Alien Alloy. As you progress through the game, new and better kit becomes available that can be 3D printed back at the Javelin, your base of operations. Turn all of Norsca into their econ buildings and hero recruiters considering Couronne does all your recruitment for you already. Get all of Norsca in one go and the AI will have built it up for you. When one of the other lords conquers Norsca, usually Wulfrick or Throgg, go kill him. It knocks out your recruitment province and your early game money exp glut in one go. Couronne has enough settlement slots to build every Noracan military building, gives a unique tech unlock, and is central to the whole map. If Wulfrick, take your immediate province and then hit Couronne. It seems like all of the human settlements are walled ( i haven’t come across one test isn’t) which means I have to lay siege. I have been told I need to raid and sack to build up my economy, but sacking is almost impossible. When I attack Kislev, I always get beaten back easily because they have upwards of five stacks. Due to the Norscan economy, I’m strugglIng to field any more than one stack and even to support this I need to be constantly raiding. I’m only at war with Kislev, and I’m allied to Clan Morder, skaven. I’m having real trouble getting anywhere playing as Norsca in Mortal Empires (Very hard)I managed to confederate with all the other tribes so I own most of Norsca minus a few territories that Kislev took early on. ![]() ![]() Open your photos and goofy boy is there, ready to print and take to my light box, or to play with in Paper Camera ( see this tutorial) or a sketch program (tutorial coming soon.Useful Snapseed Tips and Tricks to Be A Professional I usually Export. You can take a photo through the Snapseed App but I find it much easier to take all the photos I want with my device’s regular camera then to import just the one I want to filter. Faces aren’t usually dark and light delineated so running the photo through a filter makes it a lot easier to see. When you are going to make a pattern from a photo, especially a simple appliquéd portrait, You need to figure out where the darks and lights in the face are. Or – “how I use Snapseed to alter a photo I’ve already taken so that it is easier to turn that photo into a pattern for appliqué” but that was too long for the title bar. ![]() ![]() ![]() It seems short of the mark to support just 2 of the 3 libraries with static link. I have linked successfully with static lapack and mkl_em64t, without OpenMP runtime, but this seems to require mkl_sequential.so. It does so as I would expect in a dynamic link, contrary to the advice I have seen so far always to link explicitly against libguide and libpthread even when using mkl_sequential. That reasoning doesn't seem to bear on mkl_sequential, as I would think the point of mkl_sequential is to avoid dependency on OpenMP runtime. ![]() MKL 10 release notes give a lot of strong advice against static links, the only reason given being the possibility of mistakenly linking in more than one OpenMP library. Feel free to use our contribution forms to make suggestions. We would like to use mkl_sequential mkl_lapack in a static link. We greatly appreciate the contributions of others to the Hub, and would love to hear further suggestions for things that could or should be included. We will continue to add resources of our own and highlight the resources of others, to make sequential analysis increasingly easy to understand and perform. Rather, we hope to point people to useful resources so that they can make a more informed decision for themselves.įinally, the Sequential Testing Hub is not complete. Nor do we intend to tell people exactly what approach they should use, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution to most problems. We cannot hope to cover all aspects of experimental design, such as participant randomisation. We have tried to focus the resources more specifically on issues that directly relate to the use of sequential analytic approaches and particular challenges these might pose. The Sequential Testing Hub is also not intended to cover all aspects of experimental design or clinical trial design. However, we do hope to reduce the difficulties of performing such analyses, so that if someone does want to use them, they are better equipped to do so. Sequential analysis can impose some technical, practical, and sometimes ethical difficulties, and may not be appropriate for everyone or for every problem. Our aim is not to convince everyone that they should always be trying to do sequential analyses and that these approaches are necessarily better than ‘simpler’, more typical approaches to experimental design. Our ultimate aim is to bring together the insights and work of researchers and experts tackling sequential analysis from multiple angles, to make this powerful analytic approach increasingly feasible for practicing researchers. We also felt that even for consideration of the statistical aspects of sequential testing, it would be helpful for there to be a collection of useful resources in one place, which could evolve and develop as new techniques, software, or tutorials become available. We noticed firstly that the literature had given relatively little attention to the possible psychological impact of performing interim analyses, instead emphasising statistical corrections - hence, our emphasis on the possibility of keeping experimenters blinded to the results of interim analyses. ![]() The Sequential Testing Hub grew out of our own experience performing sequential analysis as part of a small scale trial of a new intervention for anxiety disorders. Given that we are psychological researchers, our primary audience is psychologists and behavioural scientists, although the resources and tools we highlight are not only applicable to psychological experiments. The Sequential Testing Hub is intended as an evolving resource to help facilitate the use of sequential analytic approaches. ![]() ![]() ![]() The House of Fiction, Henry James assured us, has many windows and many doors. But we who are left survive in that which is immortal-the art of fiction itself-while interesting subjects, such as war, love, and crime, and trends, such as the epic, the naturalistic, and the psychological novel, come and go in reader interest. They are dead, as are many who were once my contemporaries. As a young writer, I had my heroes, and, at 67, I revere them still: James Joyce, Joseph Conrad, Thomas Wolfe, Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf, Ralph Ellison, William Faulkner, Katherine Anne Porter, Carson McCullers, Wright Morris. If that is true, is that sad? I can’t bring myself to think so. A detailed chronology of the novel reveals, in every era, not only its liveliness, but its well-earned right to the term “novel.” On the contemporary scene, however, it can perhaps be said that there are no master novelists, male or female, and no masterpieces. And while we are at it, shouldn’t we also take the pulse of the reader, in the corporate sense-“the reader is dead” being the latest variation on the notion of the death of the novel? Like “God is dead,” “the novel is dead” was, on its inception, a lame-brained metaphor. If in the new millennium, rumors persist that the novel is no longer new-that it is old and as good as dead-perhaps, just to be certain, we ought to take its pulse now as a precaution against premature burial. ![]() The Death of the Novel and the Death of Reading From the beginning, its health has been in doubt, and rumors of its death have dogged its history.
